Tyler has served as Pastor at Barton First Baptist Church since December 2025. He and his wife, Anna, a native of Lexington, Alabama, love living in the Shoals community and are joyfully anticipating the arrival of their first child in August 2026. Having served churches in Alaska, Texas, and Tennessee, they feel especially blessed to now call Barton home. While serving in Texas, Tyler graduated from Southwestern Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 2021. He has a heart for preaching and teaching God's Word, caring for God's people, and leading the local church to live on mission in reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am a product of youth ministry, I had a great youth pastor who loved his students & teaching us the truths of scripture. I surrendered to the ministry in 2010, the Lord gave me a desire to point teenagers to Him. I needed a consistent voice & presence as a teenager; for 16 years that has been my "why" behind student ministry. I love to teach scripture & want to provide "doors" & "windows" for students to get into the word for themselves. I believe in giving students biblical truths to help them navigate this world & the ups & downs of life. I love to see students come alive in Christ & engage their walk with Him.
I am born & raised in Tuscumbia. I have been married to my wife, Ashley, since 2008. We both came up in the same youth group & want to give students the same gift we had in a youth group & youth leaders. We have two daughters & are very active in our church, school, & friendships. I am a part time youth minister, sixth grade bible teacher at Covenant Christian, & own a landscaping business. We aspire to point people to Jesus as we live & navigate life as a family, we also want to grow in Christ with others as we do life side by side with them.

I was raised in Cherokee, Alabama. I graduated from Cherokee High School in 1987 and graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1991 with a degree in Administrative Office Services. I’m married to Ralph Waldrep and we have two daughters Adriane and Alix, who’s married to Billy. I just recently became a grandma “DeeDee” to my first grandson Clyde. My husband and I live in Cherokee where we have a small farm. I was raised in church my whole life. I was saved at the young age of seven and this is why I feel it’s so important to encourage children to listen their hearts and follow Jesus Christ. My family and I have been at Barton since 1997. Since I’ve been considered the momma for not only my girls, but others as well I’ve acquired the name "Momma Leslie" through the years. In 2015 God opened a door for me to become the children’s director at Barton First Baptist. It is such a joy to serve as the children’s director and see children grow in their love for the Lord from birth up to preteen age.

Chris is a native of the Shoals community, graduating from Bradshaw High School and the University of North Alabama. Chris has been involved in church ministry in a bi-vocational basis since 2000. He spent most of his time in ministry as a youth minister. Around 2018, Chris began serving in leading worship at Barton First Baptist. He has attended there since 2009. He has a heart and passion to see people draw near to God by using their voices and lives to reflect the goodness of God. Chris is married to Alyson and has 3 children, Micah (21), Ella Grace (18), and Mackenzie (4).

Katrina grew up in Florence, AL with a close knit family. Her family taught her the importance of love and quality time. Katrina and her husband, Danny, have one daughter, Krystal, who's married to Zach. They are the proud grandparents of Brayden, Ridge, and Kennedy. Katrina and Danny understand how precious every moment is and can usually be found at the ballpark, riding bikes, or anything that involves their family. Katrina has been ministry assistant at Barton First Baptist for nearly 28 years. She has a passion for helping others and views her job as a calling instead of work.

Kristen was raised in church in Cherokee, AL. She is married to Kendrick Burns, and they have two children, Kesley and John Luke. Kristen has served many years teaching in the children's department at Barton First Baptist. After retiring from her career teaching special needs in schools across the Shoals, she is now a ministry assistant at Barton. Kristen has a heart for her community. Her mission is to love and serve others just as Jesus did.
