Global Missions

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”

Mark 16:15 ESV

Barton First Baptist Church (BFBC) partners with Frank Whitaker Ministries and Global Missions
of Mercy, Inc. (GMM) in Lela Obraje, Guatemala in providing for the spiritual, educational,
nutritional and medical needs of the Chorti Indians in and around the village of Lela Obraje.
Through the blessings of Christ and the sacrifices of our congregation and others, many have
come to know Christ along with their physical health and well-being improving. Our goal is for
many to come to know Christ by sharing the gospel with them as well as meeting their acute
medical, dental, education and nutritional needs.

How can I help??
Be a part of a Team

Medical mission trips occur twice a year, in the spring and fall, and include
people from many different backgrounds and age groups. Often, the question is asked, “Do I need to have medical experience to join a team?” The answer is a resounding NO. The leaders of each group provide training to equip those with no medical training to be able to fully participate in meeting needs. If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please contact the church office for further information.

Give

BFBC supports Global Missions of Mercy by sending a monthly gift to help support the
education and nutritional needs of almost 300 children in the village of Lela Obraje. We also provide monetary support the medications and supplies for the medical trips. We pray that you consider giving what the Lord places on your heart.

Pray

Pray for the mission. We want to have Jesus Christ be exalted and glorified in all that we do and speak. We ask that you pray for the health and well-being of the teams, that the hearts and minds of each person involved will be changed by each act of love and kindness done in the name of Jesus and for the staff that daily provide and support the children and families in Guatemala.
